The senior leadership team
SCIP has teams located in North Carolina and Southern California, in order to be able to originate and monitor loans in both markets. Below are SCIP’s executive team members, along with a few facts about each of them.
Jan Brzeski
Jan Brzeski is the Founder and Managing Director of SCIP and manages the fund portfolio. Prior to starting SCIP, Mr. Brzeski founded and built Arixa Capital, one of the top non-bank real estate lenders. Through his career, Mr. Brzeski has overseen 1,800 real estate loans totaling $3.5 billion. He is the father of two young adult sons and enjoys skiing and ocean swimming.

Casey Reichel
Casey Reichel oversees SCIP’s capital formation, financing and fund operations. He brings 28 years of experience during which he has held senior roles as CFO, Managing Director and Principal in the real estate private credit, real estate development and management consulting industries. He is a husband and father of two and enjoys hiking, tennis and soccer.
Chief Financial Officer
Joe Cianciolo
Joe Cianciolo leads loan origination and operations for SCIP. Previously, he co-founded HomePace, providing homeowners across 13 states with solutions to tap into their home equity, and helped grow early robo-advisor FutureAdvisor to more than $500 million in AUM and through its acquisition by BlackRock. He later oversaw several digital wealth businesses at BlackRock. He is a husband and father of two and enjoys waterskiing, swimming and playing basketball.
Chief Operating Officer
Paul Schon
Paul Schon oversees loan origination on the West Coast and monitors construction loan underwriting and draw functions for SCIP. He brings 16 years of experience in real estate development, construction and asset management and has successfully acquired, remodeled and built more than $300 million in single-family, multifamily and mixed-use properties. He previously served as a board member of the FDIC-insured Commerce Bank of Temecula Valley. He is the father of a newborn and enjoys traveling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
